Update:
In response to the tragic Buxton 5 accident we have gained funding from South 32 Illawarra Metallurgical Coal and Wollondilly Shire Council to put UTTW "On Steroids" for 2023, 24 and 25.
We have employed a professional local Road Safety company Be Street Wise to coordinate the school based events due to the sensitivities around this tragedy.
In May 2023 we delivered 4 school based events to 650 Year 10,11 and 12 students at Picton High School and Wollondilly Anglican College.
Students covered the areas of Drink and Drug driving, Speeding, Hooning, Sharing the Road with other users and Safe Passenger Choices.
Assisting us were Cawdor Haulage, Next Gear Driving, PCYC Southern Highlands and 4 educators from Be Street Wise.
We also delivered a Parent/Suprvisor Session to update on new laws around supervising learner drivers.
We will deliver the programs again in 2024 and 2025 with a " scaled up" version with the intention of all Year 10 students in 2023 will have completed 3 UTTW education days by the time they leave school and are on their Green P Plates.
